Consulting Veterinarian, Clinical Toxicology

Dr. Dominic Tauer joined Pet Poison Helpline® in 2013.  A Minnesota native, he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2008.  Prior to working with Pet Poison Helpline®, he worked as a small animal general practitioner with an interest in exotics in and around Minneapolis.   In 2018, Dr. Tauer became a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (ABT) and in 2022 a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology (ABVT).  Dr. Tauer currently resides south of St. Paul with his ancient cat Starbuck who surely will outlive us all.
